Getting here....
If you're in a vehicle:
From downtown, head eastward toward the University of Utah, along University Boulevard (a.k.a. 400 South). As you go uphill, this street curves to the right and then left again, becoming "University Boulevard/500 South". Keep heading eastward, and make a left at Wakara Way. It is a major intersection, with a stoplight. After that left, head directly uphill, straight ahead, through any and all Stop signs and stoplights, until you see Colorow Road on your right. Colorow Road is the right turn that is just before the entrance to both Red Butte Gardens and the Natural History Museum of Utah. Turn right, and .3 mile down the road is the Trailhead to "The Living Room". Park anywhere along the street that you want. And you've arrived!
On public transit / on foot:
TRAX:
You can take the Trax lightrail system (Click through to view timetable and schedule, and for "Direction of Travel", elect "To Medical Center"), to get you on your way to Colorow Road. From downtown, take the Red-University line, running toward the "Medical Center", get off at "South Campus" Station. You will then be using the University of Utah Purple Line Shuttle (click to view the shuttle stops of the Purple Line) which runs every 20 minutes from .South Campus Station. Take the Purple line Shuttle eastward (uphill) and ask the driver to let you off near the entrance to "Red Butte Gardens". Then walk uphill toward Red Butte Gardens, and you will see Colorow road on your right. Take that right, and .3 mile down the road is the Trailhead entrance to "The Living Room".
Bus:
(View the Bus schedule here, and the Bus map here) You can take the Bus #455 from downtown, at 400 South and State Street. Get off the bus at Wakara Way and Chipeta Way (ask the busdriver to inform you when you're approaching the stop for "Red Butte Gardens"). This will take approximately 25 minutes. Get out and walk east (along Wakara Way) uphill toward Red Butte Gardens, for .1 mile, to Colorow Road, on your right. Then turn right down Colorow, and .3 mile ahead is the Trailhead for "The Living Room". And you've arrived!
